The Russian aggressors approached Sazovoi Yar in the Donetsk region, but there the defense forces were building engineering fortifications that would not allow the enemy to “walk easily”.
The head of the press service of the operational-strategic group of troops “Korditsya” Ilya Yevlash said on Telethon air.
“Engineering work is underway near Sasovoi Yar and the enemy is already very close to this settlement. However, these engineering fortifications there will not allow the enemy to walk easily,” he said.
Yevlash promised that the armed forces would attack the enemy “from all directions, with all available weapons and ammunition.”
The head of the press service added that the invaders were trying to attack the Ukrainian positions near Chasovoy Yar “from the front and from the flanks”. In particular, the enemy uses offensive units in the area of Ivanivske and Pohdanivka settlements.
In the last attack in the Pakmut direction, “Akhmat” units used buggies (high-terrain light vehicles with open wheels) to attack Ukrainian positions.
Kubyan direction
According to Yevlash, in the direction of Gubyansk, “the most powerful fortifications began to be erected already in the autumn.”
“Now the construction of fortifications continues in this direction: there are also concrete structures that are long-term defensive points. In addition, dozens of anti-tank mines already installed in this direction continue to be dug. Mines are installed in the most dangerous areas,” he assured.
