Hradec Králové was shocked by the murder of a child in the main station on Thursday, January 4. On Sunday afternoon, January 7, family, friends and the Roma community came to mourn. They remember only 14-year-old Philip, who was stabbed by a local drug addict after an earlier argument.

People have been coming there since Friday morning and lighting candles at the site of the tragedy. On Sunday, January 7, approximately three hundred people gathered in front of the Hradec Krádzá train station, where a memorial service and tribute was held to honor the murdered Philip.
Several groups of Roma reflected on the event, but also on security.
“It affected all of us. It's unbelievable what happened here, he was still a child to us. This is an example of how people shouldn't behave,” said the memorial organizer. ” the man urged the crowd.

In front of the station, in a space in the main building, a shrine was created with photographs of the fourteen-year-old Philip. People came to lay candles and cigarettes or flowers. People say that the young man was killed because he did not give the killer a cigarette. The front of the railway station was constantly monitored by police and patrolling guards.
The mayor of Hradec Králové Pavlína Springerova arrived on the scene. “I came to this memorial service to convey my deepest condolences to the families of the victims of that murder. A boy, a fourteen-year-old citizen of Hradec, was killed. It's always so sad. I came here primarily to share the sadness with the Roma community and the hope that we must work together to make Hradec safe again, the safe city we used to be,” Springerová said. The city and the Roma community must join forces. “Life in Hradec Králové will change in the future. Let's work together to make it better and safer,” added Springerová. A minute's silence was observed.

After about half an hour the crowd slowly started to disperse. The operation of the station is not restricted in any way. It was surprising that commuters who often rushed to catch the train moved around the grieving crowd. The entire event went off without a hitch.
The Roma community from Hradec Králové and Pardubice is now helping the boy's family with the funeral.
A fund was also created to provide financial assistance to survivors.

Locals say that the accused murderer is a “well-known entity” there, that he uses drugs and suffers from psychological problems, and everyone calls him Orion.
Is there an exceptional punishment? The accused, a thirty-two-year-old man, faces 15 to 20 years in prison or an exceptional sentence. The man is in custody awaiting trial.
