People have been coming there since Friday morning and lighting candles at the site of the tragedy. On Sunday, January 7, approximately three hundred people gathered in front of the Hradec Krádzá train station, where a memorial service and tribute was held to honor the murdered Philip.

Several groups of Roma reflected on the event, but also on security.

“It affected all of us. It's unbelievable what happened here, he was still a child to us. This is an example of how people shouldn't behave,” said the memorial organizer. ” the man urged the crowd.

In front of the station, in a space in the main building, a shrine was created with photographs of the fourteen-year-old Philip. People came to lay candles and cigarettes or flowers. The mayor of Hradec Králové Pavlína Springerova arrived on the scene. “I came to this memorial service to convey my deepest condolences to the families of the victims of that murder. A boy, a fourteen-year-old citizen of Hradec, was killed. It's always so sad. I came here primarily to share the sadness with the Roma community and the hope that we must work together to make Hradec safe again, the safe city we used to be,” Springerová said. The city and the Roma community must join forces. “Life in Hradec Králové will change in the future. Let's work together to make it better and safer,” added Springerová. A minute's silence was observed.

The Roma community from Hradec Králové and Pardubice is now helping the boy's family with the funeral.

A fund was also created to provide financial assistance to survivors.
