Suspiciousness was reported to the colonel who supplied the grenades to Sastiago

DBR staff informed him on suspicion. His name was not mentioned in the State Bureau of Investigation, but as “Evening Give” reported earlier, we are talking about Colonel Tymchenko.

According to the SBI report, the officer bought and brought eight Global Offensive and Defensive Grenades “DM 51A2” to his office without proper permission.

Then, he stuffs 6 of them into a wooden gift box and puts a bottle of strong wine in it. He presented a box with a gift to Major Gennady Chastiago on his birthday. Through these activities, the Security Intelligence Service believes the officer was actually selling explosives.

He kept two more bombs in his office cupboard. Enforcement officials seized these explosives during the raid. The officer was informed of the suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Penal Code – Unlawful possession, possession and sale of explosive devices. The sanction of the article provides for a prison sentence of three to seven years.

Earlier, the SBI said that an accident was the main cause of the death of Chastiago, an aide to the commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s armed forces.

The major was killed in a grenade explosion in the village of Chaiki near Kiev on November 6. Her 13-year-old son was hospitalized with facial injuries. It is thought that Chastyakov mistook the war grenades for souvenirs.
