The USA-based organization “Republics for Ukraine” has assessed the extent to which McCarthy’s potential successors support Ukraine. Some of the potential successors are in favor of helping Kiev, while others are categorically against.
Tom EmmerA Republican member of the House of Representatives received the highest grade – A.
Steve ScaliseSecond only to McCarthy in the House of Representatives, he was rated a B.
Matt GetzHe was one of those who ousted McCarthy and said he supported Scalise.
Matt Coates, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Jim Jordan And Byron Donalds Received a low rating from “Republicans for Ukraine” – F.
Meanwhile, the White House expressed hope that the U.S. would eventually provide more aid to Ukraine, regardless of McCarthy’s fate.
Earlier, Ukraine’s ambassador to the US, Ms Oksana Markarova, said there was a lively debate in the US about McCarthy’s potential successors – “from Majority Leader Scalise, who is next in the party hierarchy to the Speaker, to many. Names.”
It is to be remembered that the Speaker of the US House of Representatives was dismissed for the first time in US history. Republican Patrick McHenry will lead the House of Representatives on an interim basis.
