Of the 21 nominated cars, the Czech Republic Car of the Year poll has five finalists. The share of electric cars and conventional cars is exactly half. This includes two related pure electric cars, two models with internal combustion engines and one car that offers both variants, the BMW 5 Series.
The new award winner is decided by a twenty-member expert jury, which includes a representative of Novinek, chairman of the automotive column, Milan Lajanski.
“The jury was unusually united in its selection and the five finalists received 65 votes out of a possible 100, compared to 50:50 last year,” said Peter Horak, spokesman for the organizer of the Automobile Importers Association.
After the New Year, the judges will again have the opportunity to test the selected finalists and vote for the overall winner.
The winner of the 2024 Car of the Year title in the Czech Republic will be announced at an announcement ceremony on February 6.
