Training of the Ukrainian army on American Abrams M1A1 tanks has not yet started, but should begin “relatively soon”.
As reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference Twitter CNNA senior official of the US Defense Department said about this.
“Training on the Abrams has not started yet. We are still working on purchasing the equipment, so we have not started training yet, but I expect it to happen relatively soon,” the official said.
In general, according to him, the United States has trained more than 7,000 Ukrainian soldiers since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
It is recalled that RBC-Ukraine previously reported that the US will supply Ukraine with the Abrams M1A1 instead of the M1A2 version. This will expedite the distribution of tanks. They are scheduled to be delivered in the fall of 2023.
