Poland’s parliament will vote on a new government on Monday

On Monday, December 11, the Polish parliament will vote to approve the new government; Donald Tusk, the opposition candidate, is expected to be named the new prime minister later in the evening.

This is reported by “European Truth” with RMF24.

Incumbent Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetskii, tasked by the president to form a government as a legitimate winner after the election, will try to get enough votes in the Seimas to approve the government.

Representatives of pro-government forces have only 191 mandates, and the coalition of opposition political forces – “Civil Platform”, “Third Way” and “Left” – 248 mandates, so it is expected that Moravetsky’s government will not be recognized.

After that, the process of appointing the Prime Minister and the government will go up to the Seemas. The start of this procedure, “second constitutional step” and further discussion, is scheduled for 16:30. Voting for the Prime Ministerial Election is to be held at 8 PM.

At 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, the new Prime Minister will present his plan and the composition of the government, and a vote will be held at 3:00 p.m.

Let us recall that last Friday was Dusk presented the structure of his government.

With the voting schedule decided, Dusk’s government will be fully operational from December 13 after being sworn in by the Polish president.
