According to Serhii Nikiforov, there are three more steps to be taken to get these planes.
Ukraine expects to receive not only F-16s from its Western allies, but also Gripen, French Rafale and Eurofighter Typhoon.
Serhii Nikiforov, spokesman for the president, said this in the broadcast of Telethon on August 19.
“We’re really focused on the F-16. The reason is that they’re very precisely statistically produced, purely mathematical, and easy to acquire. But we’re not focused on them. We have a list. The four types of aircraft that are desirable to acquire are the F-16, the Gripen, the French “Rafael and Eurofighter Typhoon. Gripen is a good alternative. It is versatile, less demanding as a designer. It has proven itself very well. It is currently being tested by Ukrainian pilots… The feedback is very good,” the President’s spokesman notes.
According to Nikiforou, there are only three steps to getting these flights.
“Now – testing the aircraft or testing the skills of Ukrainian pilots on these planes. Then – Practicethen – Political consent Only then – Delivery of these flights. For now, this is only a theoretical possibility,” he explained.
It is worth recalling that the US transferred secret technologies to train Ukrainians on the F-16 in Denmark.
