David Rath, a doctor and former governor of Central Bohemia who was convicted of corruption, has taken over as head of the Prague prison hospital in Prague, the HN.cz website reported. He said that he continues to serve locally and helps coordinate the activities of individual principals, participates in processing various medical opinions and prepares documents for further development of hospitals and clinics.
In May 2012, Rath was arrested by the police after he kept a liquor box with $7 million in bribes. The courts later found the doctor guilty of corruption and sentenced him to eight years in prison.
