The Land and Air Transport Union announced a strike at Václav Havel Airport

The ground and air transport union operating at Prague’s Vaclav Havel Airport has announced a strike warning. Valid from Monday until it is withdrawn or switched to another form of protest. The reason is the long-term professional management of Ruzyne Airport in the field of personnel and human resource management. This was stated by Marek Sedlak, the vice president of the association. The airport will address the requirements in an extraordinary meeting, said its spokeswoman Klara Dvíškova.

According to Sedlak, the staffing situation at the airport has been poor for a long time. “For a long time, the airport management relied on overtime as the number of employees was underestimated,” he said. The union had already discussed the terms and conditions of the employees with the airport management on April 12, and according to Sedlak, Prague Airport could not raise wages during the year. He said that unlike previous years, this year’s summer wages have not been fixed.

“We regularly negotiate with the unions, which includes four airports. We will address the current demands of the union in an extraordinary meeting,” said Diviskova. According to Prague Airport’s own information Website It employs about 2,700 people. The Land and Aviation union is the largest of the four unions uniting Ruzyne airport workers, according to Sedlak, which unites about 400 of them.
