Khakovskaya HPP cannot be restored after the explosion

After the encroachment is cleared, a new power station should be set up. It will take at least 5 years.

Director General of “Ugrihydronergo” Ihor Sirota said that Kakhovskaya HPP, which was blown up by Russian terrorists, cannot be restored. It takes at least 5 years 24/7 to build a new station.

It is said Published Wednesday, June 7, in an official statement.

According to him, the reconstruction of the station will cost at least $1 billion.

“We still don’t know the full extent of the damage: not only the station, but the crossings, water supply, gas supply have been damaged. It is a complex hydro node that will take time to build. We are currently developing a plan for the location of the station,” Sirota said.

Also, the general director of “Ukrhydroenergo” named the first priority measures to be taken today – to stop the destroyed dam and supply water to people, agriculture and industry.

“Already today, the first draft decisions on this issue will be taken. “We will store water in the upstream reservoirs to fill the Khakov reservoir soon after the occupation,” he said.

It is to be recalled that the Ministry of Economy said earlier that after the Khakovskaya HPP explosion, the cost of building a new one could be around 1 billion dollars.
