The House of Representatives’ electoral committee has recommended to MPs that Daniel Cobble be removed from the Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting. According to him, he broke the law when he participated in the presidential campaign of Andrej Babiš (ANO). According to the law, council members “may not hold positions in or speak for political parties or movements”.

A member of the “Great Council” has long been an adviser to ANO Vice President and MP Karel Havlicek. Committee members also criticized his appearance on Czech television during the first round of the presidential election. On this occasion, he acted as “a member of Andrej Babiš’s marketing team”. However, Councilor Koble, who previously worked for Jaromir Soukup’s Economia and Empresa Media publications, rejects this.
Nothing in favor of the YES movement
“Let me emphasize that I am not saying anything in support of the Yes movement. I was saying general things. Not sure how that title came up. I can imagine that they took me logically from the perspective that they have some experience with my marketing background. “I know something from Mr. (Karl) Havlikek’s performance, so I can say something,” he says, looking back on his performance.

The motion for appeal was presented by Deputy Speaker Olga Richterova (Pirates).

The entire Chamber of Deputies will decide Goblin’s appeal. The Electoral Commission recommended such a procedure, saying the councilor had been flouting the law for a long time. Only ANO deputy Stanislav Berkovec was against, his other party members abstaining from voting.
The Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting shall, inter alia, oversee the protection and development of content freedom or diversity programs and information in broadcasting. According to information from the council, members received 90,800 kroner as monthly wages in 2021.
