Oleksandr Kovalenko – Peace summit between the lines or Russia’s future is decided without Russia’s participation

A peace summit between the lines or Russia’s future is decided without Russia’s participation

This year’s first and unprecedentedly large-scale event has come to an end based on the high number of participants. The main goal of this event is not peace and its theses, but the unification of leading countries around the vision of peace in Ukraine.

And the result was positive as expected.

Next is the text in the source language.

Most of the participants, 80 countries and 4 organizations, signed the final report. As for the naysayers, let’s just say I don’t see anything new in this list. These are the BRICS countries, the old participants and the new ones in the meaningless discourse club. This includes the Vatican, whose stance on the war in Ukraine raises many questions, to say the least.

But even among those who did not sign the statement, there are those who not only do not support Ukraine, but also those who do not want to openly damage relations with Russia. And work with these countries will continue.

What is important is that this is the first summit of this level, the first meeting within the framework of the open coordination of world nations for peace in Ukraine, and not on Ukraine’s terms. A country of terror, the president’s statements were mocked and ignored.

In fact, Putin, with his hysterical statements before the start of the peace summit in Switzerland, only confirmed the awareness of the stalemate of the situation on the battlefield and the negative prospect of further continuation of the war for Russia. His fanaticism is not appealing to anyone, and in the context of integration around Ukraine, his efforts to improve conditions and his vision of “peace” are absurd.

Of course, Russia will try to impose its position and conditions, organize its own “peace summits” and attract allies such as China, Brazil, and perhaps Iran and North Korea. A joke, sure, but closer to reality than ever. But, there Tehran Conference… Yalta Conference… Potsdam Conference… none of the occupying country participated. So now – Russia’s future is being decided without Russia’s participation.
