The Turkish President’s spokesperson mentioned that talks are scheduled to be held in Istanbul on May 5. If they fail, grain exports may stop from May 18.



“If the meeting does not make a positive contribution, grain exports may stop on May 18. In the absence of a positive result, serious problems may arise in the world food supply,” said the press secretary of the Turkish president.

Let us remind you that on March 18, 2023, the “Grain Agreement” for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products was extended. The agreement regarding the “grain initiative” was extended for another 120 days.

On March 20, 2023, Russia issued an ultimatum to further extend the “grain corridor”.

Despite the agreement on the extension of the “Grain Agreement” (it was known about the renewal of the agreement for another 120 days on March 18, 2023), Russia actually stopped Ukrainian grain exports, preventing inspection of vessels in the Black Sea. .
