Ten Ukrainian servicemen completed F-16 fighter aircraft maintenance training in the Netherlands.

The Netherlands has agreed to supply at least 24 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. They should also be served.

Ukrainians practiced servicing all parts important to a fighter pilot. It is about helmets, oxygen systems and parachutes on board.


Training includes assembling and testing an emergency rescue kit. This allows the pilot to survive for days even after an emergency landing. It includes, among others, food and medicine.

Training prepares cadets for all possible hazards during F-16 flights. Ultimately, it will also provide better protection for Ukrainian pilots.

The training program was developed by the Aviation Safety Equipment Group (VVU). “F16 pilots are literally putting their lives in the hands of the soldiers who maintain the planes. Once they take off, they know they can trust the knowledge and skills of these people and that the plane will be OK,” he said. Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands.

The Netherlands is one of the initiators of the European F-16 Training Center (EFTC) in Romania. 11 F-16 aircraft have already been placed at EFTC’s disposal.
