Russia must withdraw its forces from Ukraine

Russia, Belarus, Syria, North Korea, Eritrea, Nicaragua and Mali voted against the resolution.

On February 23, the UN General Assembly called on Russia to end its war against Ukraine and withdraw its troops from our territory.

This is stated in the UN resolution.

A document on the end of the war was proposed by Ukraine. Russia was called upon to end its war against Ukraine and withdraw its occupying forces from our territories. The decision also establishes the provisions of the Ukrainian “peace formula”.

7 (Russia, Belarus, Syria, North Korea, Eritrea, Nicaragua and Mali) – 7 (Russia, Belarus, Syria and Mali) 141 out of 193 member states voted in favor of the resolution. 32 countries did not vote.

During the meeting, Belarusians proposed to pass their amendments to the resolution, in particular: to replace “aggression of the Russian Federation” in the text of the resolution with “military actions in Ukraine”, as well as to exclude the request to Russia. Immediately withdraw its forces from Ukraine. All of Belarus’s amendments were rejected.

Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak thanked the countries of the world for their support to Ukraine.

We have success. The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution proposed by Ukraine on the anniversary of the Russian invasion. It calls on the Russian Federation to cease hostilities and withdraw its forces from Ukraine, and establishes key provisions of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Ukrainian peace formula. Among those who supported us were the leading states of the Middle East. I have been in regular contact with them for the past few weeks. I am very grateful to all those who stood up for Ukraine on the anniversary of the unprovoked Russian invasion. There are 141 such states”, – wrote Yermak

Russia’s war against Ukraine

However, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been protecting our country since the first days and conducted several successful counterattacks – in the northern regions, in the directions of Kharkiv and Kherson.
