Instead of jumping into the water, he jumped a few meters onto concrete and ended up in an air rescue helicopter.

When they advise you not to drink and swim, they mean well, and you probably don’t have to hit the river

Before three-thirty this afternoon, all rescue operations were told that a person had fallen into the river near the hydroelectric station on Na Valše Street in Sušice. Upon arrival at the scene, it did not fall directly into the river, but onto a concrete surface. The person fell from a height of two to three meters and sustained severe head injuries.

According to information from the scene, the man was allegedly heavily intoxicated, explained everything that he wanted to swim, and later apologized to the rescue services. Due to his condition, an Air Rescue Service helicopter was also flown to the spot and its crew rescued the injured man.

“I can confirm that we airlifted a man born in 1983 to the emergency department of Plzeň Lochotin University Hospital with a head injury after falling on concrete. The patient was conscious,” Added rescuers spokesperson information.
